| The view from the 8th floor at the end of the BBQ |
Life here remains a bit of a whirlwind. I feel so busy that I hardly have a moment to stop and think about what I am doing.
On Friday we had a bbq after school for parents and teachers. In good Hong Kong fashion there are no qualms about sharing a beer with parents, and it was a good way to kick start the weekend. I then went on to catch up with a bunch of teachers from Newington up here for a conference, drinking, eating and carousing until the early hours of the morning.

| Our batsmen attempt to postpone the inevitable |
Only to be rudely awoken at 10:30 with an urgent call-up to the Centaurs cricket team. I had to shake off the cobwebs and make my way to the ground. We lost the toss and fielded, which was just what I needed - a chance to run off the alcohol. I only got a couple of overs (getting smacked for 6 off your second ball doesn't often lead to a longer spell) but got a wicket and felt like I was bowling well. They scored 230 but we felt reasonably confident given that the pitch was a bit of a road. Unfortunately we didn't count on their ring-in, county player
Simon Cook. In his second over he got a hat-trick, and in his 4th over he was on another. Needless to say, we lost the match.
Oh, and I got a golden duck again. Stumped off a 14 year old leg-spinner. Fortunately I wasn't alone in my ignominy - we had 4 goldens in the match.
